Kelly Evers is a talented artist that we have been digging over at Cool Art. She hails from Brooklyn, NY, who has also procured a BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. And although she works a day job, Kelly is working on becoming a not so starving artist full time. She also plays in a band called Macaque.
Kelly describes herself as a normal person with an active imagination. From her bio:
I find the modern day virtue of workaholism to be unreasonable, unhealthy and neurotic. My motivation to make work is a delicate balance of pleasure and compulsion.
The key to making good art? Pay attention.
Check out more of her work at Happiness Island.

You may have heard but the new album by Wilco, titled WILCO (the album) has been leaked on the internet. But, you don’t have to find that copy as Wilco has made the album streamable at the above link. Their latest opens with a song called Wilco, which is completely rocking and is a tribute to their fans. So far I’m pretty positive on the record. But I’m only about three songs in.
Wilco the band will take Wilco (The Album) on the road this summer, highlighted with performances at both Bonnaroo and the 10,000 Lakes Festival.

There was a time when album art was cool. Now, we are stuck with the digital download where cover art simply doesn’t exist. It really hasn’t been around since the LP went away, but at least CD’s had something to offer rather than just the disc. Anyway, there is some cool album art that is in existance. And some is even being made today. Check out Album Art Exchange, dedicated to collecting and sharing meticulously scanned and edited album cover art.
